NRTC Certified Robotics Production Technician

NRTC offers assessments for each of its three modules. Delivered online, each assessment contains about 50 multiple-choice and true / false questions and takes about 60 minutes to complete. See the NRTC Certification Brochure (pdf format).

NRTC provides test scores as soon as the individual completes an assessment showing whether an individual met the passing score.

The NRTC assessments are all based upon the five critical work functions ("Modules") for robotics production, as defined by NRTC's industry-led, nationally validated skill standards:

  • Computer Systems and Sensors
  • Communication Systems
  • Cameras, Photonics and Light Sources
  • Robot Mobility and Navigation
  • Introduction to Lean Manufacturing

NRTC does not require individuals to take an NRTC course or any other course in order to take an assessment.

Note: NRTC Assessments are rigorous, with substantial training and/or experience required to pass the assessments. For this reason, NRTC strongly encourages most individuals to take NRTC Courses (described in the on-line programs tab) prior to taking assessments. It should be noted, however, that the NRTC has no formal requirements for types or amounts of training or experience to qualify for NRTC assessments or certificates.
